Dr Rosanne Stabler

I have always had an interest in people – what influences how people act & feel, what shapes how they respond to life events & the interrelated nature of families through the generations. As a child I also had a sense of the mythic: what is unseen & unspoken, what is bigger than us as humans.

These interests led me to study psychology at university & then to train as a counselling psychologist & psychotherapist in my 20s. I was quickly drawn to do further trainings in energy psychology & integrated these into my therapeutic work.

Over time I have been drawn closer to nature in my professional & personal worlds. I have completed a horticulture course & work part-time as a gardener as I love being outdoors & helping nature thrive. I need to spend time outside each week for my own physical & emotional well-being & have more recently learnt about how to connect at a deeper level with nature beings through shamanic healing.

I see my work as a therapist & my own personal healing as an ongoing process of exploration, learning & growing. I look after my own well-being in a number of diffent ways including yoga, being in nature, gardening, reading, sound therapy & spiritual connection.

I am a questor – searching for a deeper meaning in life & being curious about how we can live fully in our personal & interconnected truth.

My doctoral research focussed on intergenerational trauma & what people might carry unconsciously & emotionally from their families & ancestors.

I have worked as a psychological therapist for over 15 years in a number of different organisations, including NHS primary care services, a holistic therapy centre, the London Fire Brigade, a GP surgery & a hospice. I have experienced of working with individuals & groups within these settings.

I am now integrating energy work into my approach, having trained in various energy work modalities, including Emotional Freedom Technique, reiki & shamanism.

I am also a mother to two young daughters. The journey to becoming & then being a mother has been one of the most joyful & challenging parts of my life & one which heavily influences who I am in my work today.

My values

I have detailed these here because they clarify my approach & represent the bedrock of how I understand why people come for help & what healing is -

  • Love & consciousness come first
  • Everything is interconnected & is always changing
  • Physical & emotional ill health are our body’s ways of signalling imbalances to us & can be understood within the wider context of the experiences of our lives, particularly how our important relationships have shaped us (in this lifetime & those of our families)
  • Trauma happens when our physical, emotional & energetic systems are overwhelmed by a single or repeated experiences of distress & lead us to become disconnected from our true self & from nature as a way of coping
  • Healing involves a change in perspective, release of emotions & letting go of self-limiting beliefs to create a new sense of self & being in the world
  • Different healing practices work for different people at different times in their lives & healing journeys
  • The ability to be vulnerable & see all emotions as equally important is a huge strength in the healing process
  • Healing is amplified when witnessed by another & approached with deep compassion & an openness to divine grace & timing
  • Life can be understood & worked with in cycles – from our menstrual cycles, the waxing & waning of the moon, to our phases of life
  • Healing comes in spirals of understanding & release & is a lifelong process
  • Nature allows us to find space, quiet & is an infinite source of healing
